The Council maintained Green is situated in the picturesque  Tower Gardens, which is part of Admiral’s Park, leading into the centre of Chelmsford City.

The Club House is on Roxwell Road, with limited parking outside but there is free council car park off Roxwell Road, just a short walk through the park gardens.

Chelmsford Bowling Club welcomes new members of all abilities.

We have trained coaches for beginners

A busy friendly games programme against other clubs, which all new members can join in

Chelmsford Finals Day wins for Jones and Colbourne

Chelmsford Bowling Club held their annual Finals Day sponsored by Ashcourt Rowan at Tower Gardens recently with Twelve championship titles on offer for successful club members. The Men’s and Ladies Championship Singles is always a highlight of Finals Day at Chelmsford and this year was no exception. The  Men’s Championship  was won by Barry Colbourne, Barry also won the Two wood and Handicap finals. The Ladies by Sue Jones who also won the Open.

Other winners were –  Men’s Junior Singles, Andy Dorking. Men’s Pairs, Mark Janes & John Sains, Ladies Pairs, Denise Bowditch & Sue Jones, Ladies Two Wood Jennie Wilson, Ladies Handicap Pauline Barnard, Mixed Pairs, Jennie Wilson & Ray Keeble The new triples competition was won by Julie Dorking,John Caton & John Churches.

At the conclusion of the finals President Ben Lilley presented winners and runners-up with their trophies which was followed by the Traditional Finals Day Bangers and Mash supper. Ben thanked all competitors for their excellent bowling, Roger Jones for organising this years competitions and the many helpers who supplied food and drink throughout the day. He paid a special thanks to Ashcourt Rowan Independent Financial Planning for their generous sponsorship.
